Brian takes office – 2015
Holsworthy & District Lions have a new President. Brian Withall was elected unopposed earlier in the year, and formally took office on 1st July 2015. Brian was previously the Club’s President in 2010–11. Brian thanked former President Richard Hutchings for all his hard work over the previous 12 months. It has been a year that has seen the club go from strength to strength – with more new members, more money raised and given away, and the Lions taking over the running of the Holsworthy Carnival.
Brian has two main aims for the upcoming year. Firstly, to increase local exposure for the Lions by supporting more events both in Holsworthy, the surrounding area, and in Bude. And secondly, to get more young people involved in some of the things that Lions do both locally and on the International front.
The ceremonial handover of the chain of office took place on Sunday 5th July at a barbecue attended by 12 Lions members, friends and family in Holsworthy.
