Duck Race 2013
President Ray Fursdon presents first prize to the winnerHolsworthy & District Lions held their annual duck race at the Bridgerule Carnival on Saturday 3rd August 2013. Some 830 yellow, plastic ducks fought their way down a sectioned-off course on the River Tamar in order to claim the first prize of a new mountain bike for the lucky winner. The second and third prizes of a meal for two at the Bickford Arms and a family ticket for the Milky Way were both donated to the Lions by the local businesses. Over £800 was raised by the Lions which will be given away to local charities and other good causes.
