Fun day — November 2012
PiratesThe annual Fun Day for children and adults with disabilities which takes place in the Memorial Hall car park on the Sunday following the Holsworthy Carnival and is, perhaps, the highlight of the Lions year. It is attended by hundreds of guests from as far away as Weston-super-Mare. The event is completely free for the guests and entirely paid for by Holsworthy & District Lions with the kind support of other local Lions Clubs. Two or three "big rides" stay behind after the Fair and the guests can go on the dodgems and waltzer etc as many times as they like. Hundreds of burgers and hotdogs are given away together with as much ice-cream the guests can eat. In 2012 there was also a disco, a Punch & Judy show and various other stalls and games including a coconut-shy and penalty shoot-out competition. Each year there is a different theme. In 2011 it was cowboys, and in 2012 we had a pirate theme.
