Holsworthy Lions retain their trophy
The final of the Lions south-west quiz competition took place in Clyst St Mary near Exeter on Sunday 19th February. The competition is open to all 60 clubs in the Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset area and, for the second year in a row, was won by the team from Holsworthy & District Lions. In a closely fought final, Holsworthy saw off strong challenges from the Lions teams from Budleigh Salterton, Exeter, and Tavistock to win the competition by 8 points and retain the trophy they won last year. This year’s team featured Holsworthy’s Deputy Mayor, Pat Smith, who was also on the winning Holsworthy team when the competition first started in 1992. Also taking part in the quizzes over the past six months, but not pictured, were Holsworthy Lions Steve Davis and Ray Vanstone
