Local swimmer on her way to Portugal
On Friday 20th June, Holsworthy & District Lions presented a cheque for £100 to Amber Houghton from Bude to help fund a coaching trip to Portugal.
Thirteen year old Amber, who swims at Wadebridge Swimming Club, is one of the South-west’s most promising junior swimmers and has been selected to attend a training week near Lisbon in October.
The week is organised by one of the top swimming clubs in the country (Ealing Swimming Club) and Amber will have the chance to work with national coaches for the full week.
