At their business meeting on 7 May, Holsworthy & District Lions presented a cheque for £2,400 to North Devon Hospice for the Long House appeal. The money was the proceeds from the Lions’ Easter egg draw in April. Just over 30 eggs were placed in pubs, clubs and shops in the local area – including one at the Hospice itself where it was won by a patient. The sum of £2,400 was the largest single donation ever made by Holsworthy & District Lions.

The cheque was received by Gerard Fawcitt of the Hospice who thanked the Lions for the donation and for all the other contributions and support given over the last year – including providing food for the walkers at last year’s Tamar Lakes Nightwalk, and the £580 donated after last autumn’s Colour Me happy Fun run in Stanhope Park.
