Lions receive long service awards

Jeff Wyatt and Paul Gould were presented with long service awards on Saturday 11 July as the Lions provided the barbecue in the town square on the final evening of St Peter's Fair week.

Jeff was presented with a 25 years long service award and Paul with one to recognise 15 years of service to Holsworthy & District Lions.

Jeff is the official Tail Twister for Holsworthy & District Lions. His main duty is "to instil enthusiasm and good fellowship in the meetings, and to keep harmony". He also has the power to impose and collect fines from the members for any breach of etiquette at a meeting.

Paul is in charge of the Lions' barbecue which has been used in the town square throughout the week. The Lions lend their barbecue and trailer to the St Peter's Fair Committee for the whole of Fair week and this year it has been used by a variety of local organisations including Holsworthy Rubies WI, Holsworthy Cricket Club and Holsworthy Scouts.
